Akua Lezli Hope is a creator who uses sound, words, fiber, glass, metal, and wire to create poems, patterns, stories, music, ornaments, wearables, jewelry, adornments and peace whenever possible.
An avid freeformer, her current interest is in using figural motifs in crochet fabric and small loom weaving. She has produced over 125 independently published patterns.
An award-winning poet, her first collection, Embouchure, won a Writers Digest Award. Her new collection, THEM GONE, is published by The Word Works (2018).
Akua has been making paper from scratch, by hand for more than 20 years. She exhibits her art work regularly.
